Healing Through Art
As a veteran combat photographer, I have turned to more peaceful images in order to bring much needed beauty to the world. This is therapy on so many levels.
Photography as a Journey
I am surrounded both by natural beauty and interesting people. I use my camera to document the world and then print images with a focus on the magic I see. My photographs tell my inner story as much as showing the outer world as I see it.
My Background
I thought I was on my way to a career as a marine biologist until I walked into a high school photography classroom of a very special teacher.  And eight years in the Army as a Combat Photographer soon followed.
On the first of two deployments to Somalia,  I was actually the first Army photographer to carry a digital camera into combat. The one pictured in the photo below is the Kodak DCS-200.
